AN INVITATION FOR NEW CAT PARENTS

No subscriptions. No memberships. Just a vet who knows your cat.

Cats deserve a vet who understands them — not one who treats them like a small dog. At Pure Paws, we take the time to let your cat acclimate before the exam, handle gently, and explain everything we're doing. There's no monthly membership and no wellness subscription. New cats and kittens are welcomed with a $45 first visit: a full exam, time to talk through everything from indoor-cat health to dental concerns, and a clear plan for what comes next.

$45 first visit for new cats and kittens. No membership required, ever.

Welcoming New Patients

•Now welcoming new cats and kittens. Most first appointments available within a week.

• Same vet, every visit. Cats especially benefit from continuity — subtle changes in weight, appetite, or behavior are easiest to spot when the vet already knows your cat's baseline.

• Easy online booking, 24/7. Or call us during business hours.

Indoor-cat-specific note:

Indoor cats live longer than outdoor cats — but they have their own health concerns: dental disease, obesity, kidney disease in senior years, and the kind of stress-related urinary issues that are easy to miss until they become serious. We screen for all of these at the wellness exam.

Why Pure Paws (cat-specific framing)

Why Hell's Kitchen cat parents chose Pure Paws.

• A calm visit, not a chaotic one.

Cats hate the vet because most vets treat them like small dogs. We don't. Quiet exam room, slow approach, time for your cat to settle on the towel before

we examine. Most cats relax once they realize nobody's rushing them.

• The vet who tracks your cat over time.

Cats hide illness — it's an evolutionary instinct. Subtle weight loss, slightly slower movement, a small change in drinking habits. These are easiest

to catch when one vet has been watching your cat year over year.

• No membership. No subscription.

Pure Paws is a traditional, independent veterinary practice. Pay for the care your cat actually needs — start with a $45 first visit if you're new.

Ready to book your cat's first visit?

New-patient cat appointments take about five minutes to book. We'll confirm within one business day, and we schedule cat appointments with extra time so nobody feels rushed.

FAQ

My cat hates the carrier. Any advice?

Yes — and you're not alone. Leave the carrier out in your apartment for a few days before the

appointment, open, with a blanket and a treat or two inside. Most cats relax around something familiar.

Cover the carrier with a light towel for the trip over. Mention carrier stress when you book and we'll plan

accordingly.

My cat is indoor-only. Do they still need vaccines?

Yes — but fewer than an outdoor cat. Rabies is required by NYC for all cats. FVRCP (the core feline

vaccine) protects against viruses your cat can be exposed to through other animals, contaminated

objects, or even a tracked-in source. We'll discuss what's appropriate for your cat's lifestyle at the first

visit.

My cat seems healthy. Do they really need an annual exam?

Cats are evolutionarily built to hide illness — it's a survival adaptation. Annual exams catch the issues

that don't show symptoms until they're serious: dental disease, early kidney changes, thyroid problems,

weight issues. We strongly recommend annual wellness exams for adult cats and every six months for

cats over 10.

My older cat has been drinking more water than usual. Is that a concern?

Possibly — it's one of the early signs of kidney disease, diabetes, or hyperthyroidism in older cats. All

three are treatable when caught early. Mention it when you book and we'll plan a senior wellness panel

at the first visit.

Do you do dental cleaning for cats?

Yes. Feline dental disease is one of the most underdiagnosed issues in cats — most cats over five

have some level of periodontal disease. We do full dental cleaning under anesthesia, with pre-op

bloodwork to confirm it's safe.

I have multiple cats. Can we schedule them together?

We can — but most multi-cat households are easier with back-to-back appointments rather than all-at-

once. Mention how many cats and we'll schedule accordingly. There's no separate "new patient" fee per

cat — each new cat gets the $45 first-visit invitation.

Do you treat exotic pets?

Dogs and cats only. For rabbits, reptiles, birds, or other exotics, we'll happily recommend a trusted Manhattan exotic specialist.
